YANA Careers is becoming Wonja Academy. Competency Labs is becoming Wonja Labs.

WONJA
Wonja Labs, formerly Competency Labs

Show how you would perform the work.

Labs is where capability becomes evidence. Role-specific casebooks and practical assessments, scored against a published rubric version and confirmed by documented review. Casebooks and assessments are the engine. Your Passport is the outcome.

Product preview

Inside a casebook workspace

The case, the tasks you complete, the rubric version it is scored against, the review state and the domains it evidences.

Casebook, participant visit conduct

Illustrative demo data

A participant arrives for visit three. One inclusion criterion now reads differently under protocol amendment 2. You decide what happens next, and you write down why.

How this is assessed

Every task is scored against a versioned rubric with defined performance levels, then a person confirms the scoring under documented review. Nothing is written to an evidence record before that review completes.

Where this evidence lands

Protocol interpretationParticipant visitsDocumentation and source dataSafety reporting

Reviewed work writes each domain to your record with its framework and rubric version. Where defined requirements are met, the record can support a Wonja Passport.

Not complete yet

Next task: Draft the site action and rationale. Participant visits stays unproven until the casebook is submitted and reviewed.

What problem this solves

Experience and training claims do not show task performance.

A résumé reports duties and a certificate reports completion. Neither shows how someone reads a protocol under amendment, sequences a visit, documents a decision or recognises a deviation. Labs measures the second thing.

  • Job titles describe exposure, not judgement.
  • Certificates record attendance, not performance.
  • Interviews sample capability for an hour, inconsistently.
  • Employers are left inferring readiness from proxies.
How it works

Structured evaluation, not attendance

Every exercise maps to a versioned competency framework and is scored against a published rubric.

01

Select a target role

Your diagnostic result sets the pathway and the domains that matter for it.

02

Work a casebook

Extended, role-realistic cases that test sequencing, judgement and documentation.

03

Run simulations

Shorter scenario exercises drawn from day-to-day site and study operations.

04

Submit practical work

You produce the artefacts the role produces: entries, rationales, escalations.

05

Rubric scoring

Each submission is scored against published criteria with defined performance levels.

06

Assessor review

A person reviews scored work under documented controls before anything is issued.

What you can do

What you can demonstrate

Domains are role-specific. For a coordinator pathway they include the following.

Protocol interpretation

Reading a protocol and its amendments, and acting correctly on what changed.

Informed consent

Consent conduct, timing, documentation and handling of participant questions.

Participant visits

Visit sequencing, procedure order, tolerances and what to do when a window slips.

Documentation and source data

Source entries, corrections, attributability and query resolution.

Safety reporting

Recognition, classification, timelines and escalation of safety events.

Regulatory and essential documents

Essential document handling, file completeness and version control.

How it connects

Labs sits at the centre of Wonja

The diagnostic points you here. Everything downstream is produced from what you complete here.

After the diagnostic

Your diagnostic sets a target role and the domains Labs will evidence.

Alongside Academy

Academy closes a gap. Labs is where you show the gap is closed.

Feeds the Passport

Scored, reviewed work becomes the evidence a Passport is assembled from.

Read by employers

Employers review the same domains, at the same rubric version, across candidates.

Supports Talent

Introductions are based on demonstrated role evidence and readiness.

Published standards

Frameworks, rubrics and review controls are documented and versioned.

What Labs is not

  • Not a licence. Results are not a professional licence, accreditation or regulatory approval.
  • Not an endorsement. A result is not an employer endorsement or a guarantee of future performance.
  • Not a course certificate. Completing training is not demonstrating capability. Labs measures the second.
  • Not external verification. Labs evaluates work you complete in Wonja. It does not authenticate third-party certificates, prior employment or licences.
Next step

Start with your pathway, then show the work.

The diagnostic takes about two minutes and tells you which casebooks matter for your target role.
